ICE VIKINGS HEADS BACK OUT ONTO THE FROZEN LAKE WINNIPEG FOR SEASON 2

(WINNIPEG, MB) NOVEMBER 10, 2020Farpoint Films announced today the start of production on the second season of ICE VIKINGS. The docu-series will once again be filmed solely in Manitoba with local cast and crew.

Viasat World has green-lit the second season ahead of the 2020/2021 winter fishing season. Eight episodes will be produced with partner Viasat and negotiations continue to have the second season distributed by Beyond Distribution.

“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Viasat and keep telling the story of the adventurous women and men that make a living commercially fishing on Lake Winnipeg in the dead of a Manitoba winter,” said Chris Charney of Farpoint Films.

The first season of Ice Vikings took viewers inside Lake Winnipeg’s commercial ice fishing industry, with a motley group of fishermen and women. In season two, Trevor Kristjanson continues to go big unveiling his rebranding and investing more in his company, Chris connects with a piece of his viking history on the lake, Mike and Justin reveal a new secret weapon, Richard and Mike are looking to set more nets this season to get a bigger score, and Gene and Candace start the season with a bang as both have now recovered from off-season surgery and are eager to get back on the ice.

On the heels of the start of production on season two, Blue Ant Media has picked up seasons 1 and 2 from Canadian distributor, Breakthrough Entertainment. The first season has already been airing in New Zealand on Choice TV.

Ice Vikings is produced by Scott R. Leary and Chris Charney, executive produced by Kyle Bornais and Rob Hardy, with Cheryl Binning consulting.
