Kid Diners Debuts June 20 on TVOKids

Farpoint Films announced today their new series, Kid Diners, will premiere on TVOKids on Tuesday, June 20th at 6 pm ET. The new 13-part series, part of TVOKids’ Summer of Canada lineup celebrating Canada’s and Ontario’s 150th birthday, is an exciting cross-country look at must-eat places, with our hosts cooking with the chefs and learning where food
comes from.

“One of the great things Canada has to ofer is an amazing diversity of cultures and incredible
geography. Kid Diners presents an opportunity to discover and celebrate that through a nation-wide food adventure in honour of Canada’s/Ontario’s 150th birthday,” says Marney Malabar, TVO’s Director of Kids TV. “We’re thrilled to partner with Farpoint Films to create engaging content like this that helps children deepen their understanding and pride about Canada.”

In each episode, hosts Aynalem Martens and Xander Boulard explore two restaurants in a Canadian city. One host visits a local mom and pop establishment while the other explores a fine dining restaurant, with each of them getting in the kitchen with the chefs to create a spectacular meal. Along the way, Aynalem and Xander get their hands dirty on farms, tractors, boats, and while foraging in the forest to learn exactly where the food comes from.

“We're excited to share Kid Diners with kids and parents across Canada,” said co-creator/producer, Scott R. Leary. “Seeing Aynalem and Xander discover where food comes from, helping to make it and the best part – eating it – will inspire kids to take an interest in their food.”

A new episode will air every Tuesday on TVOKids throughout the summer with repeats scheduled on Saturdays at 11 am and Sundays at 6:30 pm. Kid Diners will also be available on demand at tvokids.com and on the TVOKids YouTube Channel.

The Kid Diners creative team includes co-creator/writer Chris Charney (The Illegal Eater), cocreator/producer Scott R. Leary (Escape Or Die!), director John Barnard (Menorca), executive producer Kyle Bornais (Menorca), and Marney Malabar, executive producer, TVOKids. Original music is by Mitch Dorge and casting by Kari Castng. Kid Diners is produced in association with TVOKids.
