Musical Ghosts Wins Manitoba Day Award

Musical Ghosts has been honored with a Manitoba Day Award at a ceremony conducted by the Association For Manitoba Archives on Wednesday, May 11th. The award recognizes users of archives who have completed a work of excellence which contributes to the understanding and celebration of Manitoba history. Director Chris Charney was on hand to accept the award.

The ceremony took place at the City of Winnipeg Archives at 380 William Avenue and houses music historian Owen Clark's collection of Jazz photograph and video footage he compiled for his book Musical Ghosts

Musical Ghosts can be seen, free of charge for all MTS TV customers, on MTS Winnipeg On Demand. The documentary traces the roots of Jazz music in Winnipeg and details those who continue to play it today.

May 12th, 2011 marks Manitoba's 141st anniversary of receiving royal assent and joining confederation, making it Canada's fifth official Province.
