Drop The Nickel Nominated For Golden Sheaf Award

Farpoint Films and ScottFree Productions are elated to announce a Golden Sheaf Award nomination for jukebox documentary Drop The Nickel. The nod is in the Yorkton Festival's Documentary POV category.

Drop The Nickel follows cinematographer & jukebox collector Dave Gaudet on a journey to find a jukebox with a special Manitoba connection and stuff it with made-in-Manitoba music. Chronicled alongside Dave's journey is a litany of stories about Manitoba rock and roll talents from TheGuess Who to The Crash Test Dummies and beyond.

The documentary is directed by Scott R. Leary and was created for MTS Winnipeg On Demand.

The Yorkton Film Festival has been up and running since 1950 and takes place in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Besides being one of the longest running film festival in Canada it is also one of the most fun to attend. This year's festival takes place between May 26th and 29th, 2011.
